Install KRONOS
To install KRONOS please read our Installation & Upgrade guide.
Set KRONOS permissions
In the KRONOS application, you can assign Jira or AD groups to the following global permissions:
KRONOS Bizadmin
KRONOS Sysadmin
KRONOS Reopener
KRONOS Reporter
KRONOS TeamLeader
KRONOS Exporter
By default the jira-administrators group added to each KRONOS permission available in the Global Permissions menu.
To set KRONOS permissions, you must have Jira Administrators global permission
Log in as a JIRA administrator, and select Administration >System> Global Permissions
Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the Add Permission section.
Select the KRONOS permission you want to grant in the Permission dropdown.
Select the group you want to grant the permission to in the Group drop-down list.

Basic settings to start
The basic access groups (jira-core-users/jira-software-users) of Jira are assigned to a Default Acrivity Category, a Default Activity and a Default Workplace in order to allow users to create worklogs right after installlation.

In addition to the allocation of permissions and rights, there is also a need for basic settings that enable logging work and support the expectations and policies of the user organization.
Users with KRNOS Bizadmin permissions has the ability to set default values for each mandatory field of the Create worklog screen. In the KRONOS Settings > Business admnistration menu you can define Workplaces of users, Activities arranged in Activity categories. An Activity category can represent a department of the company (eg. Marketing, Sales, Development) , a Product or a Customer Project, Activities are sub categories of an Activity category.

User groups can be assigned to one or more Acitivity categories in the Activity category permission administration menu of the Jira administration section.
