With ImpEx, you can easily update bulk issues in JIRA.

(Please note that some fields are cannot be updated! For details, see the sidebar.)

The first thing you have to do is to export your JIRA issues to Excel with ImpEx.

Take a look at the exporting page to see how to export.

(Remember: It is important to include all the issues you want to modify in the export!)

After exporting the issues you can modify them in Excel.

After editing the issues, select and copy them with all its columns (and column names) like this:as the screenshot shows.

To paste the copied cells, you have to open the update dialog. 
There are two ways to open the update dialog: 

1. press "b"
2. click on the button "ImpEx - Export/Update" (1) select the option "Update" (2).

After opening the update dialog you will see some useful information on it about: 

• a link to the documentation (1)
• a 3-step guide on updating (2)
• the colors that will help you when updating (3)

When you see this dialog, press Ctrl+V to preview the update.

About the colors colours that will help you:

If there is any problem with the update, you will see the problematic cells turn itno into red (1). 

If you hoover on the red cells, there will be an error message of it, so you will be able to see the problem (2).

The cells that will be ignored are colored coloured with orange (3).

If you fix the problems, you will see the preview without any red cells and you can click on "Update" (1)the Update button.

And the issues will be updated!
